What if I don’t pass in three tries?

ARRT gives you three attempts within three years of your first exam window opening. If you don’t pass by then, check ARRT’s rules for regaining eligibility before you plan a fourth attempt. TODO: add what ARRT requires after three unsuccessful attempts, from ARRT’s own page.

How the scaled score works

ARRT reports a scaled score from 1 to 99, and you need 75 to pass. A 75 doesn’t mean 75% correct. Your section scores help you see which categories pulled your total down.

How to study for the ARRT exam

Procedures is the largest category, at 66 scored questions now and 72 from March 2027. Image production and safety are each about a quarter of the exam. Check which content specifications apply to your exam date, then take a timed practice test to find your weakest category.
